Hi I just got my first aquarium and found this site through LOTS of research. Looking forward to having fish for pets.

i would suggest you tell us the tank and how long you plan on using the tank.

Also, when putting the water in could you give us the perimeters. I.E Ph, Ammonia/Nitrite(if any within the tank itself) Gh/Kh. As well as are you going for freshwater or Saltwater fish. as this site is good for both Saltwater and freshwater fish.

Also check out the cycling a tank area so you can get an idea on what you may need to do..

Im not an expert but i would say wait abit before putting to many fish into the tank to avoid ammonia/nitirite poisoning(i had this happen to me without getting my tank completely cycled)

Enjoy your stay, and well done for doing research.  That's the key to keeping fish, always be well informed about your potential purchases and their needs.

hello and welcome

and agreed - good on you for researching before diving in. Shout if you need any help or advice we have a wealth of experienced aquarists here. No question is a daft question either so ask anything you need to :)

Welcome. This is a great hobby. I've found the more you plan and learn before you get anything wet the more fun you'll have in the long run and the greater will be your success. We're all here to help!

Welcome to the hobby! I agree, do tons of research before starting.
