Fish Fanatic
Hi there. We just got our first "real" aquarium and decided to try out tropical fish. We had an old 10 gal aquarioum that my sister gave us with 5 goldfish, but they have since died and we decided to move on to something more involved and exciting.
2 weeks ago we purchased a 20 gal starter kit tank and set it up. 4 days ago we went to the fish store and decided to buy our first fish. We went with 2 black mollies (male and female) and 2 red platies (male and female). We thought the livebearers would be interesting and out 4 year old son would love to watch them have babies. Little did we know that the female was pregnant. On the way home she started having her babies, and until all was finally over with, she had 20 fry. Of course we were not prepared for babies, so they are in the tank with the other 4 mature fish. So far we still have over half of the fry left (I know of 3 that died).
My question is, where should we go from here? We wanted to add a few different types of fish. Any recommendations? When the molly fry are bigger we are planning on moving them to the 10 gallon tank so that will give us some more room.
Thanks,
Lisa
