I am not new to fish keeping, but i have never kept African cichlids before. I have a 55 gallon tank in my office at work that needs stocking. I'm thinking about venturing into African cichlids. My water is naturally hard and alkaline, so i think they will do well. Currently the 55 gallon tank is home to seven zebra danio. I am assuming those will need to be rehomed, but please tell me if i am wrong. I am very interested in peacock cichlids. I understand that these are on the more peaceful side and are not compatible with some of the more aggressive cichlids. What are your ideas for stocking schemes for this 55 gallon tank? Ideally, i think i'd like about three different species, including the peacocks and i'd rather it be under stocked than over stocked. Thanks!

Go for some yellow labs and maingano cichlids they like the high ph 7.6-8.4 and hard water and are a stunning species to view:)
