New To A Planted Tank

Hi all,

Well I took a dive and added a few more plants to the tank and wow it looks amazing so much better than the image in my footer!!

I have been hearing the CO2 is needed for the tank for the plants to survive, is this true??

If so how do you test for it, and what equipment may I need to put the gas into the water?

ps. I will try and get some pics of my new layout tank as soon as the tannins from the previous bogwood has gone! lol

You don't need CO2 for a planted tank if you only have low lighting. I don't have any in my tanks and my plants are growing well.

There are some good pinned articles in the plants section about adding CO2 and ferts that explain it better than I can.
