New Tankmates For My Betta.....yoshimoto

I am thinking of getting tankmates for Yoshimoto my Betta.......

35L Hexagonal, 50w Heater, Fine Black Sand, Fluval Filter, 12" Silk Plant....

Any ideas as going to LFS tomoz for a mooch around?

I know there are a LOT of fish out there that are NOT compatible, but are there a few that ARE?

javanese rice fish - cheap pretty and good with bettas
pygmy corys would also fit well and normally do well with bettas

My betta did not play well with other fish, we eventually had to remove him from the tamk he shared with my corys.

A month ago I put some snails in with him but most of them have ended up supplementing his diet.

I was tempted to add some shrimp but deep down I realise that these would probably end up as a tasty treat for him.

I think it all depends on the individual betta but if you add any other fish I would have a plan B in place just in case.
