Hello! I have had a very successful planted 10G for about 2 years now. I plan to move most of my fish to my new 40G tank. I have a few questions. First, is it possible to use my old water to jumpstart my new tank? I will have to transport the 10G about 60 miles (without spilling in the car) in order to do this. I have a sand substrate, so using the sand will not contain much bacteria, or will it? I also have an aquaclear filter. Could I soak the sponge in the existing water to transfer the bacteria? The new tank will have an emperor biowheel. Can I drop the old sponge from the small tank into the large in order to transplant this bacteria? And secondly, can you guys please recomend some new fish for me to try. I currently only have a male beta mixed with some whiteclouds and cory cats. I also have 2 otos for tank maintenance. The male betta is VERY docile and does not bother his tankmates. What kind of fish would go well in a planted tank? Thanks a lot everyone!
