New Tank

I am about to start on a new tank set up 190lts
I would like to have a good coverage of plants and co2 plus the correct lighting, the tank will hold just general community fish I know that all tanks are different but Is there any general guide lines to work to so as to not have the trouble with algae that I have in my exisiting tank
I have no experience with co2 so a bit of help there would be nice
