I got a new 5.5gal tank yesterday with the intention of using it for fry....then I thought the fry might like a bigger pace to grow in. I allready have the 10gal which I have fry in atm however I needed a separate tank in case fish needed to be medicated. So do I leave the 10gal as it is and keep the 5.5gal for QT or swap it around.....

I've tried using my 5 gallon for medicating but almost every medication I've used (other than drops) is set up for 1 dose per 10 gallons. Cutting pills in half isn't so bad but capsuls are a real pain to deal with. I'd use it for fry.

i would heavily plant it(its not that hard with a 5 gal :p ) and add some shrimp and a nice lookin betta

Fry porbably, although I voted for QT before I read about most meds being for 10g up :X . But it will be fine to keep most fry until they are big enough nt to get eaten, and so you can feed them MW or BBS without other fishied eating their food.

Hi Angry_Platy :)

I would keep the larger tank for the fry. They always do better when they have lots of clean water to stretch out and grow in.

Beside, I've always thought that having a quarantine tank set up and waiting for a fish to get sick might bring bad luck down on me. :S

I think setting up a quarantine tank would just be a good excuse for me to go out and buy some more fish to fill it with. :*)
