I went out and splurged on a new tank for mrshouty and myself! Please bear in mind, we are upgrading from the 10 gallon to a 55 gallon so it is currently pretty empty looking. Also we screwed up the black background, because neither one of us can apparently cut a straight line to save our lives, so I will have to get some more. We will be adding many more plants, and of course fishies. We are thinking of doing lots of little guys so there will be lots of fun activity to watch.

Very cool - there's a ton of potential in that tank!

yeah I can't wait to get it the way I want. will have to wait a few weeks as I used up all my money, between the tank, stand, more gravel, and the best money ever spent the python!! Yay no more buckets!!

I bought some black back ground, but we screwed it up, what with not being able to cut straight lines. I will get some more and try again when I have a few bucks.

Thanks I will definitely post more pics, it'll take a little while to get it the way we want, no money for a few weeks. darn rent :grr: First step before more fish is more plants, a background, and some large rock/cave thingy for the middle.
I can't wait. :D

Looking good so far!

What kinds of small fish are you guys looking at getting? More Livebearers or something else, like maybe little schools of different Tetras?

Whatever you decide to do, it's gonna be great!

We're thinking little schools of a couple different tetras, a couple more platys, maybe something like barbs, ooh and some cute little panda corys 'cause I think they are the cutest little bottom guys! Since everything we're thinking about are small we can do several schools, so there will be lots of activity. It's already a lot of fun to watch the WCM's schooling.

Ohhh, sounds neat! :D I just love Tetras. They are the neatest little fish. I'll recommend Head and Tail Light Tetras...they are awesome. They may look kinda dull in the store, but get them home, and let them color up and they look amazing...school very nicely as well. :D

And Panda Corys are absolutely adorable. I wish I could get some, but only one lfs sells them around here and they are way overpriced.

Can't wait to see some new pics once you get it updated.

I like the head and tail lights! I was thinking of those I know my LFS has had them in the past, and I like the black (or white) skirts just 'cause they look a little different body sape -wise than soem of the other tetras. My LFS had pandas for not too pricey. Oh and I want a large cave/rock/fake wood thingy for the center, to replace the stooopid neon thing, which we threw in for possible bacteria.

Anyone have any recomendation for a background that would be matte finish as opposed to the ones at the LFS that are very shiny?

I've added a couple of cave/rock thingies, a background, more plants and due to an abundance of algae 6 otos  they are very cute!
