new tank

went and got new tank for my babies today. waiting a few days til i actually put them in to let the water settle down as i dont want to lose them. there's no problem with my water in my old(er) tank. no ammonia, pH perfect, no nitirtes, did a water change to lower the nitrates a little bit but they were ok anyway. soo, how long should i wait to move the babies form the bigger tank? also, do you think the stress of taking some of the gravel from the old tank will harm the other fish?

If I have understood your post correctly you are just starting up a new tank for to move your babies into.

I did exactly that, using water from my main tank and filter media and I thought that I could just wait a couple of day a pop babies in. I have posted this link of what happened My second tank It took 11 days before I could add my babies.

edit: PS there was no problems with my water parameters in my main tank when i transferred it to the new tank.
