I have just acquired a tank which is 30x12x15 :D which is currently in my bedroom on my drawers (weight wise is this safe??) the unit it solid though....?

Anyhow... I used to have a bit 180litre tank and cycled it etc - but i seemed to have forgotten how to cycle  ??

Obviously a few weeks away but id like to start planning what types of fish i can have in there?? Ideally i really do not want little groups like neons/guppies etc - id prefer a couple of bigger fish and nothing else.... would that size tank be big enough for clown loach? (couple)?

Suggestions welcome - obvs buying fish is a while off but it gives me chance to research...!!!

I need a filter too :good: and a new lid as the current isnt much cop :)

Your tank's not big enough for clown loaches, which can grow to a foot long, I'm afraid.

It would be a nice size for a couple/trio of small cichlids; either checkerboard cichlids or apistogrammas (if your water's soft and acidic) or maybe some shell dwellers from Lake Tanganyika (if your water's harder and more alkaline).

Or maybe a trio of honey or dwarf gouramis?

(once you've cycled, of course ;) )

is this filter suitable??

Gutted about clown loach as they take years to grow and i can upgrade by then? (im talking at buying them at 2/3 inches....)?

I will research others too

Bad idea to buy fish with "upgrading" the tank as your target. Just buy stuff that is suitible for the tank you actualy have, not the one you fantasise about.
