I'm picking up a new tank today, but it comes with a catch. There are three feeder goldfish included that grew to approximatively six inches and from what I've seen they can grow up to a foot long (not sure if this is factual or not), but they pretty much outgrown the tank already. Anywho, I have someone who has an outdoor pond that is willing to take the goldfish, so now I'm here with a tank that I plan on having live plants with the stocking idea below. Will be filtered using a 40gallon rated sponge filter and a penguin100(20Gallon filter) also will be using a Co2 diffuser and dual light hood with flora-glo lighting. Does anyone have suggestions/concerns about the stocking. Thanks in advance for any advice.

30 gallon tank? 30"x12"x18"
2 Gold or Opaline Gourami
6 Corys (albino or peppered, leaning toward peppered)
10-15 ghost shrimp (coming from my shrimp breeding tank)

Would adding 3-4 Platties be too much for the tank to handle?

Yes, goldfish can grow to over a foot in length, so it's great you're re-homing them to a pond :good:

There's certainly space for the platies, but it depends very much on the temperament of the gouramis you get; some are fine with other fish and some turn out to be quite aggressive, in my experience.

That was one of my worries about the small tank size. I want it aggression-free as possible. So a good idea would be to introduce the gourami first, then later introduce the platties? If they are aggressive I can move the platties to my tropical community.
