just got new tank tested the water and put conditioner in , how long do i leave the lights on 4 2 get the desired temp

the heater is what gives you the tank temp not the lights.... if there is nothing living in the tank then there is no need for lights yet. if there are fish in then 6 or 7 hours is enough any more and you may get algae
