Hey all, About 3 weeks ago i brought myself a 2ft tank, but quickly realised i wanted a bigger one, only going to 3 foot! I was wondering if someone could give me a quick hint on the right way to start up an aquarium, ie leaving for a certain amount of time before fish go in etc etc.

You'll want to have a look at the beginners links at the top of this forum, the most important part is 'cycling' your tank (I had no idea what this was until I found this forum). Read up on those methods first of all and then post back if you have any questions.

Agree with ZoddyZod! Read as many as of the topics in the Biginners Resource Center as you can before you begin!

Also, did you buy tank "kits" (i.e. filters, lighting, etc. included), or just the tanks + stands? Just curious as sometimes the equipment provided in kits really isn't up to the task, but we can probably help you determine what you really need vs. what the pet store is trying to sell you. ~_^
