So I just picked up a 75 gallon tall tank, approx. measurements are 48L x 12D x 30H. Haven't set anything up yet, just trying to get ideas on future inhabitants for this tank. I hope to have a nice community tank with activity at all levels within, but, I have never had a tall tank before, at least nothing so large. Any input about species to fill it with will be greatly appreciated. If possible, please explain why you would choose species you may be suggesting. Thanks in advance.

my 350l tank is 30" tall the fish in me sig seem to use all levels the angels love it :good:
the silver dollars and the gourami also are very active at all levels

2x angelfish
2-4x bolivian ram
10+ cardinal tetra
8+ flame tetra
6+ corydoras
1-2 bristlenoses

I'd go with angelfish over discus as they're easier to keep. Same with bolivian rams over blue rams. Cardinal and flame tetras for schooling fish as they look amazing when fully coloured up. Corydoras and bristlenose for bottom dwellers. All these fish are from south america so you get a nice looking biotope using all levels.

Of course you could mix things up with something like
2-8 platy/molly
2-4 opaline/blue/gold gourami
2 angelfish
2 bolivian ram
5+ yoyo/polkadot/zebra loaches
1 bristlenose
10+ shoaling fish (barbs, tetras, rasbora, rainbowfish)
maybe even an rtbs or some golden panchax

Depends what you like.
