I have a 29 gal tank and It's not really new as I had it for about a month and I sort of went from goldfish to tropical. Right now I have 1 oranda godlfish, 2 ryukin goldfish, 2 small 2 large bronze cory cats, 1 (leopard?) cory cat, 2 dwarf gouramis, 5 cardinal tetras, 7 harlequin rasboras. Am I overstocked? I have big blue gravels and its medium planted. I have 2 java fern, 2 anubias, 1 amazon sword, 1 crypt wenditii, 1 hornwort, 2 dracaena. I just bought the cory cats today and I found one big cory cat had one eye missing. What could've happened? I'm not sure if it was like that in the store or not. I'm thinking of doing aquascaping. Do you think it's better to have fluorite brown in the bottom and sand on top instead of big gravels? I think this change would be beneficial to both the cory cats and the goldfish.

My ph was low 6 so I'm trying to get it to high 6 to neutral. I bought product for this.

All advices are welcome. Don't be too harsh on me, I'm still new and learning.

You cant keep tropical and goldfish in the same tank and keep them healthy. Goldfish are coldwater and tropicals are warm water. That aside it still seems like you're overstocked. You need to get another tank or get rid of something. PH should be the least of your concerns right now. Most here would tell you not to mess with ph products. Fluctuating PH is more harmful for fish than slightly alkaline or acidic water. Your fish couldnt care less what type of gravel you use. That would rather have clean water that is at the correct temperature.

I heard big gravels can hurt the cory cats and get stuck in goldfish mouth.
