hi, my name is amber, and i am a fishaholic.
now that that's over and done with; a few of you know of my very random 50g, and my Goldfish-only 10g, and the assorted bowls, boxes, tanks and jars my Bettas control.
now that i know i can order any fish i want (-le gasp-) from my LPS, i will. so, with whatever birthday money i get in July, i will be making a 'Mini-Tank' =) at most 5g, since i know both my bureaus can withhold about 60 pounds of deadweight, and i don't really want to push it that much. same Aquaclear filter as my 10g, semi-submersible 50w heater (smallest i can get) and blue-tinted halogen bulbs for the top. the gravel will be blue, too, with small blue glass gems. i'll probably get some silk plants resembling the big weedy, viney, broad-floaty-leafed plant in the 50, as well as some shorter ones and a hideout of sorts. it will be a little kids type tank, as i'm trying to do whimsy and cute =)
the fish i plan to get, well, this is where you come in. i can order any fish, so if you have suggestions do tell! but right now i was thinking:
3 Male Guppies
3 Julii/or/Dwarf Cories - i love the fact that male Guppies look like tiny Bettas; the only thing is i've seen males randomly attack or try to mate with other males
and, would this be overstocked? not by 1", but in terms of territory.
4 Zebra Danios
1 Apple Snail - i've liked Zebra Danios for a while, and the snail is there to clean. like a maid. again; overstocked?
2 Dwarf Puffers - would they be okay together? could more get along in the same tank? how much salt per gallon? would i put more salt with water changes, or topping off the tank? how often do they need to eat snails?
