I'll be setting up a new 15 gallon (or 20 long...not quite decided yet). I would like to have something unusual and/or a little more demanding than the usual suspects. I know my options will be pretty limited because of tank size, but I thought I'd ask. Thought maybe I could get a few ideas here, and go do some research. No corals - they'll be in with a half naked sea urchin (also, something that won't be a threat to an urchin without half of it's spines). If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it. I'd like to keep something that will get me some respect around here.....;)

Why no corals? What species of Urchin?

Canthigaster Puffers, Dendrochirus Lionfish, and Gymnothorax melatremus (Dwarf Moray) could all be accommodated in a 20 long, but I'm not to sure how they would fare in a 15 gallon. Another option is a eustarine system with mangroves, and containing small fish such as Gobies (including small mudskippers; use logs and rocks for them to climb on) Cardinals, Rainbows and such.

That's why he is getting kicked out of the 29 gallon. I don't think he tries to eat them, but he was able to pick up my leather and caryy that around the tank, and it's "trampled" my xenia.

I would worry about the puffer still picking on the urchin. He has some relatively big bare spots on him. I'd be afraid the puffer would pick at these spots.

I'd love to have a dwarf lionfish, but I'd rather not a skimmer with this tank. I don't have one on my current one, and have gotten accustomed to the water changes. I think I've read somewhere you have to gave a skimmer with these guys. I imagine the same would go for the dward moray?
