New Tank

i was wondering what some good tank ideas are. im getting a 29 gallon tank, the fish i like are: Albino Tiger Barb; Tiger Barb; black phantom guppy; yellow tux guppy; blue cobra guppy; neon blue tux guppy; all the harlequin rasboras'; and a selection of tetras. i dont want to stock all these fish for obvious reasons, i just want to know how certin ones would do with eachother. i would also like a bala shark one some kind of sucker fish like a cory cat or something. thanks for all the help in advance.

no balas, they need 6ft tanks (get huge and swim lots)

guppies OR tiger barbs, because the barbs nip fins

harlequin rasboras are a good choice

'sucker cat', cories=great idea, get 5-6 OR some sort of small plec (like a bristlenose. Check out this list:

is there any sort of a bright color fish that could go in that mix? also are undergravel filters any good?

undergravels are alright, bit outdated and annoying cos you have to strip your entire tank down to clean it (which must be done)...

Are you planning to go planted? If so forget the UG (undergravel) cos they interfere with the roots and suck

rasboras and guppies are bright lol, google 'rummy nose tetra' (unless you already know about em) and they are pretty colourful, but you may have to let go of the guppies or one school of fish.

i know guppies and rasboras are bright but is there any other kind.. i was thinking of doing a planted aquarium but i dont know the first thing about how to start. speaking of starting is a fishless cycle the best way to start a new tank?

i like cardinal; neon; and true rummynose but i like bigger fish they only get 2". when you do the inch of fish per gallon its the full grown size right.

yes, but a 29 gallon planted is complimented by small fish, it makes the tank look bigger. And shoals look awesome
