Last sunday i purchased 3 apparently healthy danios considered good fish to start with, since sunday i have lost them all, thy appeared to have gone red underneath then died.

can any one please advise

Was the tank cycled before you added the fish and did you test the water before adding them?
Danios are normally very resilient fish and reddening suggests septiceamia maybe, which may be due to nitrite, ammonia or bacteria or stress.
Was it their tummies that showed the red and did it look like bruising?

Hi Black angel

I am sorry to say i did not do a water test before adding the fish, my daughter said that the fishes bellies were very red, because of the size of the tank it appeared the largest fish spent most of its time chasing the other two.

The last fish the biggest one died today with the same red belly, it crossed my mind that these are shoaling fish but to complete the cycle we could only put three in to start with. I thought that because the fish were just being introduced into the tank the water would be nuetral.

I would imagine that all the stats would be 0 except for the nitrates. Maybe take a sample of your tank water to a pet shop and ask them to test it for ammonia, nitrates and ph and see if theres anything there thats out.
You would basically be cycling from scratch as you would need a source of ammonia to start the cycle.
Danios may have been stressed through a lack of swimming space as they like plenty of room. Maybe try using a couple of platies to get the cycle going for you.
