Im getting a free tank.. All i know is that its a 40 gallon tank could be bigger, with all the equipment: filter, heater, Uv lamps etc etc.

I was going to just use it as a spieces tank, but i thought about it and id rather have a community tank full of colour. More like a display of tropical splendor.

I was thinking about putting dwarf ciclids in.. with a few little schools of fish.

I am also going to be planting this one out abit and im going to put abit of cave structure in as well. predetors and the preyed are welcome.

Any suggestions of your own would be helpfull?

I'm about 4 weeks away from the following setup:

40g (36x18x16) Planted tank
3 Apistogramma cichlids (species undecided)
6 Inpaichthys kerri (blue emperor tetra)
10 Hemigrammus bleheri (rummynose tetra)
6 Otocinclus vittatus

Sounds remarkably similar to your goals...

Good luck with your choices!

Are you sure your not just getting my tank instead? lol

well i poke my nose into a few pet shops in my local area and see what they have.. i live in blackpool so there are only a few decent ones.

What colours are you going for?
Im trying to fit pink in somewhere.. my girlfriend is stressing at me to get a pink fish into this tank.. (shes obsessed lol)

Tomorrow the tank should be here and the cycle should be underway then.. i have the day off to do it so yay.

i'll keep ya posted ;)

There are some good pink-ish fish out there you can find. Rummynoses, quite a few tetra. (My mind has gone num.) Might pay for you to look around some more! :p

Hope to read your updates! :D

Yeah I would be interested in a pink fish too, same reason “a moaning girlfriend” don’t really want to get loads of them so one that could live happily being the only one of its species in the tank. Sorry for the hijack

Ello again..

well ive found a few fish that might keep her happy :D

But with it being an oscar would it be a problem keeping other fish with it in a 40g tank.

Pink veil tail oscar

This Dwarf convict might be the answer, and i wont have any problems keeping other fish with it.

Jelly bean dwarf convict

This Trichogaster leeri Although this one isnt pink as such, ive seen some that are a light red in colour that might keep her happy to.

Trichogaster leeri

This might help you out to "piper"

Please give me feedback, if none of these fish would be compatable with other cichlids. or tetras. please say.

thanks
