Okay... There are alot of problems going on with my tank right now so maybe you guys could help... i have a 12 gallon tank with 4 neon tetras, 3 harequin rasboras, a clown loach (i know hes going to be way to big for the tank....) and a threadfin rainbow fish. Im not sure how the clown loach will do though... he had a very bad case of ich that my mom didnt notice when she picked him up from the lfs so.... Im trying to treat it but im afriad ill put too much in the tank and kill him. I know they also like to be with other clown loaches but the lady who sold my mom the fish told her that they would do fine alone. I do have another aquarium that i used to use for tadpoles awhile back. Its nothing special, just a plastic 10$ or less thing, but I could keep him in there and try to treat him. I will be getting a bigger tank before next christmas, hopefully a 50+ gallon one, so i think the loach can probably make it until then. But back to the rainbow fish someone told me they were a schooling fish so i need to get more then one... the lady just sold me one for under a dollar so i took it... After the loach is treated for Ich in the smaller tank, I could put the fish in there and get maybe one more so it isnt quite so lonely but i dont want to overstock the tank. I also have another 3 gallon tank that i have 5 guppy fry in right now. Today they will be two days old. I did have 2 guppies but i think the Ich treatment i did on Wed. killed them, but the female guppy did manage to have babies before she died. I have not done any tests to the tank, but today i plan to go to the lfs to get testers. This is a fairly new aquarium, I got all of the fish except for 3 of the Neon tetras (which i have had for over a year now) on tuesday. Another big mstake, I know. The lady apparently assured my mom that if she got a pack of Bio Spira that the fish would be okay if I got them all at once. She came home with 12 fish, and already 3 have died, the two guppies and i woke up this morning to a dead neon tetra (he did not have any color to him last night... you could faintly see the red and the blue) not including some baby guppies that were eaten (I have some fat tetras and rasboras right now.... haha) The Harlequin rasboras I think will make it, and I think my three old neon tetras will too and the rainbow fish. Hopefully the new neon and the clown loach will too. Of you have any Ideas please tell me.... here is a list of the aquariums i currently have:
-12 gallon eclipse with a bio wheel with 3 harlequin rasboras, 4 neon tetras, a thread-fin rainbow fish, and a small maybe 2 inch clown loach
-3 gallon eclipse with a bio wheel with 5 guppy fry in it
-3 gallon cheapo tank with no flter but i do have a filter for up to 5 gallons that i can stick in there if i need to with nothing in it
-1 1/2 gallon cheap tank with no filter that has 2 African Dwarf Frogs in it

You definately need to test the water quailty. Even though you added bio spira, it is worthless unless it has been properly handled, whcih means it has been constantly refrigerated.

Clown loach often get ich, especially when they are first brought home. Unfortunately, ich is one of those diseases that if one fish has it, then the rest of the tank will also get it, so moving him into a smaller bowl to medicate will be pointless. Clown loaches are very sensitive to medicine, so you need to treat the tank wiht half the normal dose. Also, slowly raise the temperature to 82-84 degreese. By slowly that means no more than 1-2 degreese per day. That will speed up the ich life cycle and and help eliminate the parasite more quickly. When you do this, be sure to watch the fish for signs of stress. Adding the medicine and raising the temperature will lower the oxygen in the tank. If the fish look stressed, add an air stone to help out.

After that, if the soonest you can get a larger tank is a year from now you need to re-home the clown loach. Also, be sure to search on www.ebay.com and craigslist.org. Sometimes you can find some realllly cheap tanks online. Other than the clown loach, the rest of your tankmates should be fine until you get the large tank. Just no more fish.

To be honest i would take the clown loach back it's not far on him being in a tank that small, plus he will get stressed on his own.

If i take the clown loach back, is there any other small fish that will help clean the tank but not get to big for the tank i have now??

Corys are good for cleaning the food up of the bottom of the tank, but they need excellent water quality.
