Hi all. I am getting a new 300l tank, 48", 20", 24". I was thinking about putting an oscar in it, but am not sure about the idea of just having one large fish. I like the idea of SA cichlids and that have the same characteristics as oscars so want to stick with SA cichlids, but maybe ones that dont need such a large amount of room to themselves. Any suggestions would be great.

 i have a perfect idea... muahhaaha... anyway i think u should put a super duper large school of african cichlids in there al kinds of colors and wat not, that would look ace

could go with some geophagus species or some sevs there are many different species other than the green or gold ones out there, another way to go would be with some of the crencichla species could get pair of Marmorata in there. but there are alot of ways to go when it comes to SA/CA cichlids.

If you're really into South American Cichlids, I would suggest to have several Discus and Angels together. They really are beautiful, and so peaceful. (If you're into that thing). this is what i'm doing with my new 46 gallon Bowfront.
