New tank stocking suggestions

What else could I have in a 10 gal tank with 8 tiger barbs and a few small corys?

you have to be careful as tiger barbs can be very aggressive.....I don't have enough confidence to recommend anything really as I don't know anything about them apart from that so don't know what they would turn on.

8 tiger barbs is too many for a 10 gal, they should really be in at least a 20 gal. As you are already overstocked, i wouldn't reccommend adding any more fish.
