Hi guys.

I am looking at buying a 60litre tank and am thinking through the stocking options.

At the moment I am thinking I would like some tiger barbs, gouramis and possibly some guppies. What would be the best amount of each type of fish to get and will they be OK in a tank together as I know that barbs can be aggressive. I am planning on planting live plans in the tank.

Cheers!!!

Will the barbs be ok with the dwarf gouramies? What other bright shoal fish could I put with the barbs and gouramies? Thanks for the help

HHmmmm...... I really like the barbs but I will give them a miss as I really like the gouramis. Anyone got any suggestions of a really nice bright shoaling fish I can put in with the gouramis and a few guppies. Cheers

How about some Cherry Barbs instead? I'd say get only male guppies, I find they shoal together in peace quite well. If you start putting female guppies in you're going to have a tank of mostly female guppies as a ratio of 1 male 2 females is advised...

you cant do all male guppies, they will fight and chase eachother around. you have to mix or do all females or 1 or 2 males

well i alwase take the males and females and seperate them when i raise fry and when i get about 10 males together its alwase a big fight durring feeding time. even lead to some deaths.
