I have a new 10 gallon tank. Well, not new per say. It was my sister's betta tank and then my cousin's guppy tank. now its my empty tank. I have no clue what to put in it. I already have a 10 gallon guppy tank and a 5 gallon soon-to-be betta tank. What should I put in this new tank? Any ideas?

Thanks!
Nikki

surely not all in the same tank. How beginner friendly are gourmis rasboras, and corys? I have only ever had goldfish, guppies, and bettas. Also, are they commonly sold at a chain pet store? I have a petsmart, petland, and pet supermarket near my house.

Provided that the tank is properly cycled before hand, they are rather easy to maintain and care for ;)

I don't like corys much. I like pretty, flashy, colorful fish. Will rasboras school if I put a lot of them in? How many can I have if it's only rasboras?

properly cycled meaning 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and low nitrate?

Properly cycled meaning your biological filter can process 4ppm of ammon all the way to nitrates in 12 hours.....I don't really know anything about rasboras so hopefully someone else will chime in. I raise livebearers for the most part.

I wouldn't put Harlequins in a 10gal......active fish that need more swimming room IMO.

the others would be fine though.

I think it's a 10us Gallon, which in my opinion is okay for Harlequins. But there are plenty more Rasbora species which are definitely okay for this tank boraras maculatus for example.

There are alot of different tetras that are colorful and would be happy in a 10 gallon tank. You could also try some of the smaller gourami species, they are neat to watch.

I would put just one type of fish in a 10 gallon tank. If you want something simple and easy to care for like your guppies and betta, I would suggest neons. However, do not mix them with other fish. Neons are a very mild mannored fish and tend to become food for any other fish. There a many pretty colors of neons, and they are small, so you could put up to 10 in your tank of various colors and enjoy them all swimming around...like a rainbow in the tank.
