Hi Folks,

Trying to plan out my new 4ft tank and I wanted to get some feedback on my ideas.
Here they are so far - can you guys let me know what you think?

Substrate:
using 2/3rd's gravel and 1/3rd sand. (To picture it, left side will be gravel, right side sand.. get me? )

Plants:
Not too sure yet, but I'll be planting it up with a few - not too mixed.

Landscaping:
Probably 2 pieces of bogwood - I'll need to soak these for quite a while in a bucket, right? say, a week?

Fish:

I've been looking around and these fish would be okay for my tap PH and the conditions i'm used to.
Can people point out some do's and don'ts for these? This is a selection of fish i like, I don't intend to have
all of them in the same tank!

- Silver Dollar
- Angel Fish
- Blue Acara
- Rams (Bolivian or Blue's)
- Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlid
- Harlequin Rasbora
- Pentazona Barb (5 Banded Barb)
- Celestial Pearl Danios

If the ph is sitting around 7, these fish should all be okay. My main question really is what fish will happily live together
and which ones will point-blank not get on. I know the danios and dollar's should be kept in groups of 5-6 so I need to
take this into consideration when stocking.

Tank dimensions:

48" x 12" x 17"

Thanks peeps :) :good:

Bit small for the silver dolla and the height really needs to be atleast 18" for angels :) so ill leave that with you to choose! Rest of the stocking sounds alright, make sure you dont over crowd with the US cichlids though, ensure they have room for there own territories :)

NO ANGEL FISH IN A COMMUNITY TANK.

Both my uncle and my lfs, where i work, put angel fish in community tanks (latter when i wasnt there) and they killed everything in the tanks and promptly committed suicide - what a waste!

SJ2K - whale shark?!?[

Well my babies certainly aren't anything like that. They are very timid.
