I currently have a 20 gallon tank and am going to get a 48 gallon tank. I have some really fast growing plants (Hygrophila Ploysperma) in the back of it right now but they are just not that full, more like long and stringy. How can I get them more full and bushy or what other plant would you recomend to put in the back as a background? I also have some cabomba, which I finally got to root, some plant that looks like an amazon sword (Echinodorus), and a Alternanthera reineckii.

Let me know what other plants I could put that would look good, and let me know what you think of the 20 gallon tank now.

Thanx :D

if you want bushy, you'll want a more blue light spectrum lamp (like a 10,000k)... i think an easier way to do it is just to clip them and replant the clippings to create a fuller effect...

If you want a plant that gets bushy and grows fast, get ludwigia repens (Red Ludwigia). This stuff grows like a weed in my tank and needs constant trimming. Hey, you said that you wanted bushy. :p

Does anyone know where I can find some pictures of larger tanks with plants? I need some ideas.

Also if anyone here has pictures, please post them or links to them.... that would be greatly appreciated
