Fish Fanatic
Hi All,
Ive decided to give up fish keeping becuase of my last tank crashed 2 years ago, but now I feel revitalised and thinking of buying a new tank, it would be around L 60 inch, x W 20 inch x H 28 inch, but im worried about the load placed on the floor, so I was woundering if anyone could shed a little light on this.
The tank will be placed in the Living room, on the back of a 2 load bearing walls, basicly it will be located on the back wall, between the chimney and the outside wall, the house was built in 1948, the joists sizes run through this back wall, the joist sizes are below:
Joist Dimensions:
W 2 1/4 H 5 1/2 (inches)
Spacing centre to centre:
15 (inches)
Joist end to start of new one:
13 (inch)
The total load will be spread over 4 Joists
I am thinking of putting some 2x2 under these joists to the foundations to aid in the support?
What is the general advice on this sort of thing, any help on this is thanked in advance as usuall.
