New Tank Set-up Ideas

I have a giant peice of tall big bogwood i got free with a fish tank i bought a while back, i was thinking of standing it up in the corner of shimmers tank, its has sort of like a little place at the top of it like a ledge type thing. I was then thinking in the back corner putting the treasure chest, and then putting my silk plant and elodea at either side of it, what do you think?
I'll start doing the set-up when i see what you think?

With the bogwood just make sure no sharp edges and if standing on end to make sure it is secure and won't fall and trap or hurt Shimmer. I have never seen bogwood in a betta aquarium but then still so new, I am sure someone else will come along with some great advice

As to decorating, pretty much do anything, just make sure no shrap edges for them to rip fins on and also whatever you are adding is aquarium safe and won't leech anything harmful into the water.

For instance there was a discussion recently of someone that has done an alcohol themed aquarium, using bottles etc. Very cool idea, the bottles were glass and cleaned properly for the purpose. Try and see, I constantly arrange and re-arrange to get the tank looking right for me, especially with the addition of new plants.

Make it how you are happy with and interesting and safe for Shimmer

If i can get some sand today ill start the new set-up, dont want to stress shimmer tho.
I think bettas like variety with their tank not just the same lay out for months.

I can't get any sand till tomorrow or later so i think ill leave the set up for now.
