Hi guys, been a while since I last posted, which is a good thing as all has been well and stable....
Ive finally got my better half to agree to a tank upgrade after she point blank told me I would never get anything bigger than the Fluval Edge.....But now she wants hard flooring in our study, i have been told I can put a fish tank in there and remove the Fluval from the dining room. Result!!!
So im not just going a couple of gallons bigger, no no. Im am literally going 4.5 x bigger lol with a 240L tank
Now I have been looking through what is affordable / non-divorceable prices and came up with a toss up between a Juwel RIO 240L and a Aquael opti set 240L. I went to look at the RIO at local aquatic centre and was massively disappointed by the brace bar at the top. I also didnt like the "pimply" plastic surround on top of the tank. So I was set on an Aquael....Then a Oase Highline 300 came up on ebay. This is over my £500 budget but comes with a Oase Biomaster thermo 600.
So now im torn, and then reason is this...
To achieve a x10 GPH I would need to run two canister filters either end of the tank. This is possible on the Aquael due to it having two slots either end of the tank. The Oase has a fixed inlet at rhe bottom of the tank, and then a drybox for fitting the outlet.
How could I run a secondary filter without having to chuck in a intake pipe down side of the tank? Does anyone know if a Oase biomaster 850 on its own would be better ? As Im wanting to run two 600 ideally. I also need to know I can run both sets of pipes up the drybox, across top of tank and drop down the other side of tank?
For look and price, the Oase is hot. I know people will say there is better, like Aquariums4life, but prices for basic tank at size I want is £900. I can get this Oase for a lot less, and its only a month old...
I really need some guidance on this, its driving me mad and I dont want to potentially lose the sale....
