I've aquired a new tank measuring 24" * 12" * 24"(deep) about 25 (UK) gallons.

I'm thinking of having angels as the focal fish due to the height of the tank, would 3 be ok in there? (If 2 paired off, I can move one over to my 4 foot tank)

If not, will angels get on ok with gourami? I could look at one angel and some kind of gourami.

I'd also be looking at a shoal of smaller fish like cherry barbs or glowlights maybe hatchets (to be looked at yet) and a cleaning crew of maybe bristlenoses or ottos and some corys.

I'm thinking of using a 36w compact T5 B) (though I considered TWIN 55w :hyper: ) to light it and having a few taller plants like vallis and elodea and hopefully a nice tall piece of bogwood to give hiding places maybe even letting the wood stain the water :dunno:

Not yet sure about filtration, I have a fluval2+ but I think its too small for this water volume, so I may go Fluval 3+ (or equivalent) or maybe an external.

So, any obvious problems?

Cheers

The height certainly is ok for angels
I personally would forget the gourami and go for a few festivums instead.

I think 3 angels may be pushing it due to the width, however like you say
you have the option to move one over.

Cheers Wolf,

I wondered about 2, but if my limited understanding is correct unless they are an established couple, you should either get 1 or 3 :dunno:

Well I wouldn't get any small fish like you listed because the angels would be able to fit them in there mouth and eat them.

I have 2 angels in my 62g tank
there were 3 but one died from a fungus outbreak :/
the two left are ok with each other even though one is twice as big as the other one.
I'd go for two arfie and if it don't pan out seperate them as you have another tank already set up.
nothing ventured nothing gained, my friend
