still trying to set my new tank up but it's taking forever! but plan to put real plants in will i need some sort of feed for them as they will be in the water with no fish for a little while with only the air pump. (as the pump will be on the other tank for a bit)

Look up the plantgeek website, you may find you have insufficient lighting, filtration, and an airpump is not going to help you grow plants at all.

well i was going to go for plants that like low-medium type of light and that were easy to care for. thanks for that website quite useful

It might be a good idea to use plant geeks low light set-up guide.
I'll let people more knowledgeable than myself take over from here, name the types of plants and what your set-up is.
tank size, lighting and such.

i will have a look at that, not ready to get the plants yet any way but just wanted to check, didn't want to go out buy some plant to have them all die before i got the fish in. lol.

Haha, something you might want to try is if you get a nutrient rich substrate is to try and grow your plants before adding any water, sam themuleous is trialling it at the moment but it looks like a good way of getting alot of plants for very little hassle.
