New Tank Mates Wanted!

Hi,


I hve my new 4x2x2 400l tank which I got from ND aqautics last week, current stock has been transferred from old juwel 180l tank, and all is well. Now I have the extra room I would like more fish, currently I have:

4 neon tetras - maybe get another 6?
2 golden barbs - again as above?
2 cherry barbs
4 corydoras, 2 varities
2 chinese algae eaters
4 danio's

I guess I could expand the tetras and barbs, but would like some suggestions, could I add a Plec for example? other varities of tetras? All suggestions welcome.

For a plec I would put in an L204 flash plec I have 2! What about some gourami's?

Upping the barbs & tetras would be good,corys also,you say you have 2 varieties,maybe add 4 more of each,they will certainly enjoy more company!

Chinese algae eaters can grow to fair size...

Maybe gouramis and or angels?

Thanks for the advice, I was thinking about 6 tetra/barbs? would this be enough or should I get more, will deffo have a look at the gourami's, had some before, nice looking fish. Any othe suggestions..?

the angels will eat anything they can fit in their mouth so the neons might be a nice snak

Don't get gourami or angelfish if you have 2 Chinese alage eaters. Algae eaters will grow to nasty 8 inch predators and are known to suck off the slime and eat skin of gourami and angelfish. Mine killed an angelfish.

I like angels myself and I've never had an issue with them eating other fish^^ But I'm biased. Angels have always been my favorite.

I like gourami's but they can be kinda ornery. Maybe some powder blue dwarf gouramis? They are beautiful.

the angels might snack on the neons but if you get them small and grow them with the neons around there will be less chance of this, i had a group of 6/7 angels from about an inch with neons and they never ate any of them, then adopted a beasty and bye bye neons.

I went and got 4 bronze corys today along with another 6 neons, like the idea of a plec rdp50734 said to get an L204 plec, but could not see one at the lfs today. Any other sort of plec I can get?

right your in kingswinford I'm in oldbury. Earls aquatics had them in (quinton) A+D aquatics in oldbury have them but £20 each! Earls were £5 phone before going though as he hasn't been getting much stock in lately! What shops do you use at the moment?

Got fish today from A&D, sometimes use prestwood just on way out of kingswinford, also a small shop in kidderminster called forty fathoms. As I said could not see an L204 plec, plenty of others, but stated they grow big!! Is earls aquatics any good?

Earls is good the day he has a delivery usually tues/wednesday 2pm onwards! His discus 3" body is £7.50!! but his stock of decent stuff goes by the next day! He had 3" gold nuggets for £15. Have a look its nowhere as big as prestwood. I would phone first to save disappointment!
Also in A+D the l204 were in the tank to the right of the discus!
