As you all know about my 10 gallon now, housing 3 zebra danios and a single leopard pleco all doing just fine no aggression of any sort all eating well no scardy cats in the tank and all water test show good. I'm thinking of adding a African Butterfly Fish. Any one know if this is a good idea or any tips on housing it in my tank. I have a lid for stoping jumpedge lol, is that a word? I got two 10 watt floresent lights, one piece of bog wood a fake plant, and a single rock. None is covering the serface so it should have a decent time in the tank or am I wrong? Any tips will be appreciated. Thank you all. Oh yeah Merry Christmas! :santa:

By the way, you're still looking for that one specimen to show off in that tank, right? Get any good suggestions from people?

I have one :D They only get 4 inches, and don't move mkuch so a 10g is the minimum tank size. BTW your zebra danios would dissapear if you got an ABF :p They have huge mouths and ove live fish :)

It doesnt really have anything to do with wanting an oddball but I just have to say it anyway. Danios like to be kept in big groups, not do they like it but in the long run they Have to be in bigger groups to keep their aggression/fin nipping down. I suggest you get another 3 danios. Either zebra or leopard or whatever, just make it a bigger group

Yep dwarfs right, i keep 1 too and it's fantasic but those danios would have to be moved or the ABF would do it for you.

I think it's to beable get crickets for them aswell as a treat and then, mine loves them.

10 Gallon is the minium for them and you need cover for them by providing tall plants or floating ones.

to be honest there arent many oddballs suitable for a tank of that size, but consider one of the smaller goby species or an odd little catfish. Failing this, i know its not a particular "oddball" but threadfin rainbow fish or even croaking/sparkiling gouramis would make better companions, just a thought :dunno:
