New Tank Help

hi, i have just brought a new tank as i want to try my hand at cichlids
the tank is 124 x 40 x 40
but im at a crossroads i dont know which direction to go? Mbuna maybe
or somthing else?
could someone please give me some pointers, what are my options

Well, my Mbuna tank is my favorite tank (out of 4). Collectively they are fab to me. I actually like certain individual fish that I have better, but as a whole they ROCK!



Get it, mbuna 'rock' - rock fish? Okay - that was bad...


Hhhhmmm...maybe I should make bumper stickers that say that...

I have Mbuna in a tank which is slightly bigger then that, but stick to dwarfs because the rest get pretty big. I find that on the whole, Mbuna look more impressive in a bigger tank though.. most people say that Tanganyikas are better suited for thanks that size. Personally, I have lately had a bit of a longing for a river set up full of Anubias, Congo tetras and a few select cichlids.
