Should finally be going to pick up the 6ft x 2ft x 3ft -270 gallon tank on monday. We tried to pick it up last sunday aswell as tryign to do so a couple of times before and still after arrangeing it he turned his phone of and dissapeared for a couple of days...I just hope we are going to get it at long last
Also do you think and arowana would eat my fish [look in profile please] or could it actually mix with them?

Isn't that tank a little small for an Arowana?

If a 270G is too small for an Arowana. Than it must grow to at least 5 foot Lol. Arowanas top out at 3ish.

Oliver I think the arow may act agressive to these,2x Festivums,4x Silver Dollars. Apart from those I think your pretty much done. Post some images once you get it.

So if it tops out at around 3ft it won't have much room will it!

A quick google will find sites mentioning them attacking fully grown oscars too.....

OMFG. I meant whatever the circumstances, it'll reach its max size of 3 feet. I know its probably not gonna get that big in a 270. By the way Oli, is it 3 feet deep or high?

3' wide so it should have plenty of room.I was going to get a fire eel but they are quite expensive and shy...dam.I wouldn't get a big aro.Maybe 6-8 as apparently this is the best size to buy them.I knew the arowana but eat the festivums lol and maybe the silver dollars so i can't really get one anyway.Any other suggestions?

I'm assuming your oscars/festivum/severums aren't extremely aggressive.

A chocolate cichlid might be something that would mix.. Mine wasn't extremely aggressive, and was kept with the fish you have.

Maybe some sort of geophagus?

depending what ray. im no expert so you would have to ask T1KARRMAN or cane. i wouldnt suggest arowana. maybe some GT's or possibly a discus dedicated tank for only discus and nothing else

Scobina reach a disc of 12" so i know it would be fine. also a asian aro would be bette as there smaller but americanaos ar larger. like the common silver aro. Oli already has a 100g discus tank so i dont think hed want another tank.

okay. then i would also recommend a nice oddball tank like CFC's. theres some pics of his in the pictures section and they look amazing.

Thing is discus angel and matt i am moving all my central/south american cichlids in this new tank.So they have to be compatible with them.I'll ahve to have a look at rays.Might be an interesting challenge.O yeh i also took some cool videos of me hand feeding and touching my discus [only on tip of their fisn so i don't take their slime coat of], playing with my oscar [who liks to try and kill my hand :S ] and piccies of my aqua qube 40 which is looking great,ADA soil makes plants grow fast :hey: .Can't post atm because i have lost the phone software though :grr:

On a sad note i woke up this morning to find my sailfin pleco [15'] half stuck under the filter with his gill plate loged at the intake, dead :-( .He must of got stuck because i had a hard time getting him out :/ .Usually he never hides and is always out and about, but for some reason he decided he wanted to hide :X .It's partly my dumb falt though.Removing all the decor last week for the new tank then not getting it.Never put it back in except a few bits so he had few places to hide.

O yeh this is my last post today because its 4 am ahah.Won't be on much here as much aswell as i am introducing my leopard geckos to breed :hey: Just today i got both out to see what they would do and the male tried to mount her -_- lol. I seperated them because i want to get the female 8 grams heavier [70 grams] before breeding here. The male got frustrated and bit hold of her tail so i tried to interveen [not the cleverist thing to do] and the female turned round to try and bight the male but bit me lol.Atleast i know they are definetely ready
