Hi everyone,

I set up my Jewel Rio 180 last weekend. I put my filter pads in, a couple bags of gravel and used some New Tank Stabilization liquid and some dechlorinator.
About three days after the water had gone in, I noticed these little globule things just beneath the water line (some are just above). They're about half a centimetre long max.
On closer inspection I could see these tiny little black dots inside. I got rid of them, but a couple days on (today) there are now about 20-30 of them in my tank.
I was hoping to get some fish tomorrow, but until I get to the bottom of this problem that is out of the question.

Does anyone have any idea what these things might be?

Have you got any plants in there? as when i did mine i put some plants in and one had just one snail on it and before i knew it i had loads everywhere so... i went to the shop and asked what to do they said buy some Clown Loach fish and there great little fishies they will eat them all and leave you with little like shells.

did you put any live plants in your tank? if so, you probely carried over some snail eggs to your tank. snails are pesky varmints.

Thanks for the replies, guys. No, I've got no plants in there at all at the moment. Nothing but the gravel and the water.
I'm totally perplexed...
