New Tank But Not Sure!

I waited nearly 4 weeks for the owner to get this ready to sell to me, I wanted a piece of furniture rather than just a tank, the maple colouring was meant to match the light oak in my living room, but it's even lighter than the light oak! The tank was collected and delivered by someone else, the tank itself is immaculate but the cabinet's a bit 'hmmmm' having had a sticking foam around corners and inside, there is a warped corner as well and I'm just not convinced I will enjoy having glass doors... would like opinions please before filling her up!x

it looks like a very nice setup. if the stand is too light,maybe buy a stand the same color as your furniture?if the difference is minimal i would go ahead and set it up.lol

is the warped corner the base the tank sits on?if it is it could cause a problem in the future,base could very well crack.

It's not warped, but a bit water damaged, it sits straight, shall I do a pic?

Looks nice hon, the water damage to the corner should be fine, cant see it in those pics.

I set it up easily the day AFTER the JD lol, I don't like the way the hose fits onto the shepherds crook, there is no nut to tighten it on, you just have to rely on hand tightening being ok :blink

I never use those, just the hoses and taps, the tubing fits happily over the rim of the tank without them, couldnt really work out how to fit them anyway But glad you got it sorted.

Difficult one as it's just personal opinion really. The stand is not my cup of tea at all but it totally depends on your house and your style. Once it's full, moving it will be a real faff, so you want to be sure really!
I have an aqua one horizon 60 waiting to be set up. Everyone who's seen it likes the stand, but I think it's hideous, so it's not getting filled until I've had a joiner round to hide it

Oh ok, you mean the strainer? it just pushes on and kinda clicks into place, I thought you meant those weird curved plastic bits that curve to place the tubing over the rim.

lol yep the strainer, the long candy cane shaped thing - I hate the fact the hose and the intake don't have a nut over the hose just to be sure it's tightly on, makes me nervous!

Trust me, if they are pushed on properly, they wont just come off, whenever I want to take one off to clean it, I really have to tug on it. Maybe you need to twist it round, I know mine kinda click in when on securely.

The TT hoses will not come of if they're heated prior to being pushed over the inlet and outlet.

I'm just paranoid after what happened with my Tetratec when the hose kept popping off and that DID have nuts lol!
Ok, I'm charged up and ready to go, LFS in the morning for some black sand and a nice 3D background, will do some pics, get it filled over the w/end and move all my stock over, wahey excitable!
