i bought 6 new plants today and added them to my tank looks mint ill take some pics soon ... but i also bought some aquarium sand to make a corner for my crabs ... can i put sand near my plants ??? and anyone know what crabs like to eat ??? other than my plants

plants seem to grow better in sand for me. putting it in a corner will require a divider or the sand will just get spread out in your gravel.

Crabs like nothing more than a tasty piece of fish.
Your LFS should stock freshwater crab food which will keep them satisfied and reduce temptation to snack on fishie tankmates.

Craps are pretty much scavengers in the wild, but seeing that they aren't in the wild when they are in your aquarium, depending on the species of crab, they will most likely look at your fishies as a tempting treat, therefore, you should feed them crab food from your local fish store, and they are also good tank cleaners. I've also heard from many fish hobbyists that crab enjoy spirulina tablets for plecostomus'.
