New Stocking Idea?

Would this work? My new 10G will start cycling as soon as I can find the darned ammonia.... cross your fingers the drug store will have it. I was planning on doing a beachscape with cories, only with a cheap kit filter because the bioload of 4 - 5 cories isn't a lot. However I suddenly thought maybe some African shelldwellers would fit. (i think it would be cramped, though) So if I got a new filter and did do that, would I be able to fit 4 cories too? If not, how many africans could I fit? Sorry this wasn't in the cichlid section, this was more of a stocking question...

I don't know too much about shelldwellers, but I would think that they wouldnt really like having cories swimming around the bottom all the time. Ive never tried that combo before though so I am not sure.
