This may sound heartless but if my remaining fish die, i want to consider which fish will go in my established setup. Can u guys throw some ideas my way? i like tiger barbs, so this is a keen choice, i mainly like them cos they stand out alot colour wise.

Other than that, i like adventurous fish, playful and funny to watch, is there any kind that can be kept with 4-5 tiger barbs ? remember colourful ones :)

i think it would be easier to just list which fish can go with tigers and why you recommend them, this way i can search the net and decide.

Thanks peeps

What size tank? It is usualy best to keep tiger barbs in groups of 7 or more to keep aggression and fin-nipping to a minnimum. It then becomes quite easy to choose tankmates.
If you have room, consider a red tail black shark or a rainbow shark. Other active barbs like rosy barbs or clown barbs or golden barbs would also work but only if you have enough room for another shoal. The same applies to giant danios which are another possibility. In a larger tank, a bristlenose pleco would work, as would some cichlids like the more peaceful keyholes. It is also probably possible to keep them with dwarf cichlids if the barbs are in a larger group to ease aggression.

In that case I would say increase the shoal to 7 and get an RTBS. :) Very bright and full of character (though maybe a little grumpy).
