Well, I've been hanging out here a few days, checking out the abundance of information on here. I feel quite overwhelmed. There is so much to learn. It's much different than when I kept fish about 30 years ago!
I finally have everything, I think, to get started this week. I will be cleaning out the tank I have and set it up. Per the info and help from rdd1952 (thank you so much), I'm going to be doing a fishless cycle. From what I have read so far, this seems to be the best and safest way to get a new tank started.
My daughter and I will be keeping African Chichlids.
I bought a test kit today so I can keep an eye on the water levels. I really don't understand what all the water levels are but I am getting a crash course. I am sure I'll be doing a lot of reading on here and asking tons of questions.
Help, support, and comments, will be greatly appreciated.
Please bear with me as I learn to navigate this forum. I've never used one before and I've been using the computer since before the internet, when it was just local bulletin boards!
I know I'll be meeting really great people on here.
Melissa
