Hi,

I've a new setup on order an wanted to know (along with dechlorinator) if I need a bacteria startup/cycle solution (excuse my terminology) I wont be introducing any fish for a while just plants. Would I just need something like Stress Coat? Any other recommended potions? I've read activated carbon in the filter helps keep it clearer also, is this right? Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers,

you CAN have a cycle solution but make sure there is ammonia(waste, poop, rotting matter). carbon helps. usuallly you can havea ammonia by tanking your old filter from old tank and swishing it around the new tank. plus you get a free cleaning for old filter!!!!!!
