Hi, i am half way through doing a fishless cycle just waiting for the nitrites to drop. Reading the article by Callbob it refers to the tank being all brown. As this is brown algae do i have to take everything out and clean it or when the time comes if i put some ammano shrimps in will they clean it all of oh and a couple of bristlenose plecs. Will they do the job for me.

When I initially set up my 10g, I had brown algae all over the sides of the tank. Eventually, it cleared up on it's own over time. I didn't have any shrimp or plecs in the tank, either. How long are your lights on? Again, with my 10g, I had my lights on way too long and I think that's what caused it. I'm not sure if shrimp or plecs would be able to fix the algae problem, but more less mask the reason it's being caused...

The amano shrimp will work on it but it will also clear on it's own. Usually increased light will also help although I have always been a little scared to that since I know that there are other forms of algae that are much worse that more light could help bring on.

Thanks a lot guys for your info. in reply to bobross my lights are on 6hrs off 2hrs on 6hrs is this ok or is it to much.

That should be fine. I have mine on 4, off 6, on 6 so that they are mainly on when we're at home.
