Right, after a quick re-scape last weekend. Here's some pics of the new tank setup. Let me know what you think.

There you go :p

It looks good but that massive airstone won't help your plants, the plants should give off oxygen to help your fish

Hmm I would normally agree, but my plants have been fine with that airstone since the tank was set up. Also at the moment I'm medicating the tank for callamnous worms, so a bit of extra airation is more than welcome.

My future plans (once I've sorted the worm problem) is to make the dwarf neon rainbow shoal 8, make the corydora shoal 8, khulis = 8, cardinal tetra = 8

and then I might add a CO2 sytem for my plants lol.

Now I know some of you may think that, that will overstock me. But I've had the tank overstocked before and kept on top of the water changes and toxin levels without a problem and never encounter any problems with being overstock :good: Just means a bit of extra work, which I don't mind.

i think your tank looks lovely. and your ram looks like a hybrid (if there exists such a thing). lovely!

beautiful ram i would dye to have one of those, sadly i must wait till i upgrade my tank

i run a small air stone and i have the setting on minimal, i also overstock by a bit, when you keep to the 'guidelines' the tank always looks bare, its safe like you say if you keep on top of it.

Looks like a super-colourful bolivian but you never know.

To be honest, the thought of it being anything other than a Bolivian Ram has never crossed my mind. I have 2 males of this colouration and intensity of colour, but I thought this was due to good health. My newer rams are dull, but their colours are growing in intensity day by day (although I do hope that they are not males. Ideally I wanted 2 males and 2 females)

Saying that.. I never known B. Rams to be anything other than that colouration :S Could just be good stock, or a cross?? Anyone got any ideas?? or is it due to good health?

it is a bolivian ram also known as butterfly ram or red ram!
scientific name : Microgeophagus altispinosa :good:

Any chance you could PM me a link or specs and brand name, its exactly what im looking for to replace my bubbles ^^
