New Rocks

[Fish_mouth]

Hi i moved into a new house and i found a box full of brown pebbles(look like river pebbles) so i took some and put them in a bowl of boiling water for a few minutes and put them in a tank without fish in it. If i look close i can see white clouds going aroud the tank. Can you please advise me what to do.

brown pebbles? my guess would be the rocks contains elements soluble in water and is not to be put with fish. but normal river pebbles wouldnt do that. hmm. have u tested the water?

Probably just the dust from them. Rinse them a few times and they should be ok.

uh erm my old tank sone something like that. is it like clowds at sitting at the top of the water? if so i dont no what it is but it hasent harmed my fish

Did you test them - use white vinegar and if it fizzes then they may not be suitable for tank use - Obviously take them out of the tank and boil them again before putting them back if the vinegar does not fizz.
