OK, so i brought forward the ram purchase instead of extra Neons. I've tried to get two Bolivian Rams , one male and one female. question is, did we get what we hoped for? Are they both even Bolivan Rams?

i don't think it's stressed , in case you think it is because of its body shape, i caught it in a turn. it's happily feeding right now and exploring.

in the first pic the male GBR was stressed (the black vertical bars) they are fading which is good.

you have a male GBR and a female bolivan ram

Ok, thanks for the input, i get the stress thing now sorry. MYy understanding is the GBR needs a higher temperature tank than the Bolivian? I guess one of these needs to go back to the shop and it looks like him.

yes you are correct...the german blue rams need to be kept at 28-32oC

what other tank mates are already in the tank?

Went back to the LFS yesterday and got two Bolivian Rams for the one GBR we took back for our troubles (at least we're hoping they are Bolivians since they admit they are really unsure down there) .

All three look more similar now but the two new ones are a bit more colourful and probably males as they are mouth to mouth sparring.( Pics later.)

If they both turn out to be males then one can go back as it was free anyway (unless someone here wants one?).

Edit: Judging by this http://www.#99###.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=32792 my best guess would be i have a male and two females. The vents are visible and rounded on the two new fish but not the original "female" and the original fish has longer dorsal fin spines (1st 3) compared to the rest of the spines.

Truck,,,why do you think the original fish was female? What are you going by? Cheers.

They're still a little young to sex accurately, but a few more pics would certainly help.

New Pic ,,,any help in sexing them?
