New Poster Fish Help

I am looking for fresh water fish that are peaceful and would get along with a male crown tail beta. I am looking for fish not do not cost alot but are nice to look at and are not that hard to take care of. Odd or rare fish would be nice but what do you think? Thanks

What size tank is it? Dose it have a filter or heater?

Male bettas are solitary fish, and IMO should only be house with shrimps and snails. It really all depends on your betta, most tend to be too aggressive to keep with fish. I have seen some live with fish w/o any problems and some that will attack anything alive in their tank.
