this is my new baby sailfin pleco " steve " ( i think it is male lol ) hes about 3" but he is still young in my opinion

It's impossible to sex them until they're adults (and considering they grow to 18"+, that's a while off yet), and even then it's very difficult from what I've read. Love the name

Sounds like you have everything worked out then, and he's gorgeous. I just love gibbies - highly under rated. Fair enough they poo for England, grow huge and are common as muck, but I still think they're the most impressive plec species. I just wish ours wasn't such a big baby

yea hes a baby doesnt come out until abotu 10ish and then goes and hides whneva i go look at him , he does love the heater as well he like sit exactly wer it is and sleeps all day so lazy and u r right thy do poo for england i have to vac it up every couple days coz it doesnt break dwn lol

if i dont get a bigger tank in time my lfs said they will take him and rehome for me as thy are all such nice guys lol
